Hiya, in this crazy weather, why not continue with the rain theme from last time. I found yet another take on it I wanted to share with you. The best thing is, it’s sleek and smart, comfy as always, features my fave shirt, and I’m not repeating a single piece from before 🙂
The key pieces for smart rainwear
So, let’s outwit the weather once again and let it not steal our style mojo…
The most handy shoes ever
First, why not get a pair of mostly rainproof smart flats? Ballerinas are the biggest basics ever, even if they are not strictly en vogue as we speak. And these ones, goodness, how I love them. They are rubber on the outside and luxe leather inside, with Chanel-esque contrast toecaps. They are from a few years ago – grab them if you ever come across them – I listed a few places you can look. Rainwear has never looked so easy and chic in the warm season.
The summer bomber
Again, the bomber jacket is something of an oldie. I bought it from ASOS’ petite range years ago and it’s still spot on. I don’t wear a lot of colour but this little one really has a place between my warmer khaki and black bombers in the closet. You can wear it on its own or as a light cover-up but today it doubled as a blazer over my fave grey fine utility shirt.
The basic and the statement accessory
The black jeans are my number one go-to these days. They are from H&M’s low skinny range and have this cool cutout raw hem I grew a bit obsessed with. Finally, the velvet choker was a bit ahead of the Nineties revival when I got it. I love the fact it’s just another velvet choker. But, thanks to the chain and key detail (bit S&M, oh well) it’s far from being just another velvet choker – it’s a real icebreaker 🙂
