A glimpse of the Hungarian countryside and a relaxed summer look that feels so right now. Serving up the best in denim and stripes – enjoy!
Last week I took a mini vacation near lake Balaton in Hungary. I really needed a little change of pace, to spend time with my Mum, enjoy long walks, good food, good coffee, and lots of amazing ice cream, of course.
We shot a few snaps at the edge of a nearby forest in this cute town and at the local gelateria 🙂
The denim & stripes look
I’ve always been obsessed with striped shirts, whether smart or casual. So no wonder I’ve updated my collection this season. This shirt is on the relaxed side, with classic pajama stripes in light, pure cotton, therefore perfect for summer. The other key piece is the denim shorts. Again, they are a new addition to my wardrobe, I love the distressed finish and the flattering cut. Next, about the shoes – you must know I’m crazy for loafers. They are smart, casual, comfortable, cool and versatile. I have lots of them but never quite enough. They easily dress down anything uber-smart, or elevate any casual outfit, like this one.
The accessories
There is a bit of a jumble in that department but I’m happy with it all 🙂 My most important pieces are the mid-sized vintage bag (a gift from my sister) and the large aviators. The rest is optional – just grab what you feel like adding to the look. For example, here I have a choker, a necklace, a thin scarf and a straw trilby on. In the real world, an ancient Frenchie style trick might come in handy: create the perfect look but, before leaving the house, take it down a notch. If something is not quite right, I try removing an accessory that pushes my outfit over the top.
In summary, I really loved this outfit because it’s the perfect relaxed chic look that takes you effortlessly from city to country.
